I would like to recommend a book to you. The book is : Before I go to sleep. It is a thiller. It is brilliant, you will be surely captivated it by this outstanding debut by J. Watson, a new writer, who made this debut just out of the blue, not being known or recognised. Yet, the book is ingeniously crafted, compulsive and gripping, a sheer page turner. In the end is a marvelous twist. Suspensful and unpredicted . I highly recommend it .You won't regeret it. The plot: After surviving what she believes was a car crash, Chrissie suffers from a form of amnesia. She is no able to remember the events of the past day and even all her life after a night's sleep. Recently I have been at a brilliant performance in Silesian Wyspiański Theatre. The title was the Endgame by Samuel Beckett. Splendid , just outstanding. Enjoyable as it was to watch, the plot and the meaning was not so easy to grasp. It was so called gallows humour. You have to think deeply to catch the right meaning and have some general knowledge about the world. To be frank the truth presented there is rather saddening .It shows our life , in particular its ending, not in very britgth colours , it may even be called a bitter end. I recommend it, though. And I would like to highly recommend another book, play by Samuel Beckett , that is Waiting for Godot. It made an indelible impression on me. I read it some time ago, but it is worth reading anew. Recently I have read a great book by J. D. Salinger- Catcher in the rye It was my compulsory reading during my English studies, but I wanted to brush it up. I am impressed. The book is not light to read, it is thought provoking, very deep and it makes you think about the surrounding world. But this is what I like. I don't like shallow, down to earth books, I like indulge in a good book. Yet, for some it might be controversial. It did spark a lot of controversies when it came out. It deals with the problems of human condition, our anxieties, desires, priorities, fitting in, finding our place in this world. Here I enclose my short review, just in case. someone finds it handy.
